7 Days to Celebrate Be Kind to Humankind Week

We are thrilled to announce that Be Kind to Humankind Week is fast approaching! From August 25th to August 31st, we invite you to join us in spreading kindness and positivity throughout our community. This week is all about recognizing the power of compassion, empathy, and taking action to make the world a better place for everyone.

Throughout the week, we will be posting a variety of ideas and activities designed to inspire kindness and promote empathy. Whether you want to volunteer your time, donate to a local charity, or simply perform a random act of kindness for a stranger, there are countless ways to get involved and make a difference.

These are just suggestions and can obviously be modified to your schedule and interests.  The important thing is that we get out and spread Kindness to all Humankind.

August 25th – let’s kick off Be Kind to Humankind at HOME.  Go a whole day showing kindness and compassion to every member of your household.  Watch your tone with your children, encourage the siblings to get along today, and give your partner an extra hug and listen to them talk about their day.  Make dinner as a family and then sit down for some great conversation.

August 26th – get out into the COMMUNITY today!  Be Kind to Humankind everywhere you go!  Thank the Amazon driver, smile at fellow shoppers, give the waiter a generous tip, give someone a compliment, or feed the person asking for help on the street corner.  Get the kids involved in helping make an impact on our community!

August 27th is National Just Because Day.  Find something kind and thoughtful to do for someone “just because”.  This doesn’t have to cost a dime – give a smile, give a hug, give them a call, hold a door open for a stranger, let that person in a hurry go in front of you at the grocery store, or thank the sales clerk.  Don’t expect anything in return, do kind acts “just because”.

August 28th – ok commuters, today is for you.  Let’s all Be Kind to Humankind on the ROAD.  This just might be the hardest one.  Let that driver in a hurry pass you by without a comment, wave at someone that allows you to change lanes, slow down and enjoy the ride, and offer to carpool with someone to enjoy their company.

August 29th – Time to Be Kind to Humankind by lending a HELPING HAND.  Do you know someone that lives alone and might appreciate you mowing their lawn for them?  How about an elderly neighbor that could use a hand with some chores?  Sign up to volunteer at a local school, food pantry, or other charity.

August 30th is National Grief Awareness Day.  Everyone we know has suffered grief in some form.  Reach out to a friend or family member that you know is struggling with grief and offer them your kindness.  You never know how much it means for a friend to reach out during your darkest hours.  If you need professional help dealing with grief, contact a therapist or your physician.

August 31st – Today Be Kind to Humankind by being kind to YOURSELF.  We all need to love ourselves more and today is a great day to start.  Be kind to your body with some extra exercise.  Give yourself a break to read a book, take a bath, or watch your favorite show.  Go to bed at a decent time and get a good night’s rest.  You are an important part of humankind, so be kind to yourself.

We believe that small acts of kindness can have a big impact, and we hope that you will join us in celebrating Be Kind to Humankind Week. Let’s come together to spread joy, positivity, and kindness throughout our community and beyond!
