Non-Suicidal Self-Injury Support Group

Self-injury is often used as a coping mechanism for negative events or emotions. Self-harming behaviors are often a result of not knowing how to identify or express intense or painful emotions and lacking healthy strategies to manage these emotions.

Stone Creek Psychotherapy & Wellness Center’s Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) Support Group provides a safe space for adolescents to:

  1. Identify and process through negative feelings
  2. Challenge thoughts that lead to self-harming urges
  3. Learn healthy coping mechanisms to overcome the desire to self-injure

The group is led by Laurel E. Tate, LCSW and welcomes adolescents, from approximately 13 years of age through 18 years of age who struggle with non-suicidal self-injuring urges and/or behaviors.
